Powerchairs and Power Packs
Choosing the right powerchair is the similar to choosing the right scooter; you must consider the distance you will usually be travelling, as well as size, as many powerchairs are used indoors as well as outside. They are controlled by joysticks, giving control over direction and speed with very little effort or reach. Some can be dismantled to go into a car.
If you are having trouble pushing your wheelchair over uneven ground or up slopes then a wheelchair powerpack might be an effective solution. A powerpack is an attachable set of battery powered wheels that give the wheelchair extra propulsion to get across rougher terrain. They are designed for attendant control wheelchairs and provide additional assistance for the person pushing.
